Adapted from the original work by Wen Guoshi, "Walking Through the Wilderness of Love: Shedding the Stigma of Shame and Working Alongside Kindness as a Rural Teacher," the protagonist, Ding Bang, carries the scars of his past growth within him, perpetually oscillating between being hurt and hurting others in his relationships. So why does Li Yinghong interpret this role? Wen Guoshi is a rural teacher whose parents suffer from schizophrenia and who was raised by his grandmother. Throughout his growth, he often faced ridicule and insults, leading to a persistent sense of shame. Labelled for life, Wen may feel lost but strives to transcend his origins, continuously moving back to rural areas to help children who are similarly marginalized.
