A comedy from the BBC about the Metropolitan Police's "Cold Case" department. The head of the team is female DS Sandra Pullman, and since it's related to old cases, she hires three retired detectives: Jack, who buries his late wife in the backyard and talks to her every day; Gerry, once a notorious womanizer, now has to have dinner with his three ex-wives and four daughters; and Brian, a compulsive, former alcoholic, and conspiracy theorist. The title comes from an old saying: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." However, these old dogs successfully use their experience and skills in the new era, solving difficult cases with what appeared to be outdated methods.
