On the first anniversary of the death of the master artist Aida Bunya, relevant organizations planned to publish a complete collection of Aida's works, and unexpectedly discovered an unpublished manuscript. This manuscript tells a horrifying story about a manga artist who, in search of creative inspiration, resorts to killing young women. Those involved are worried because the story is remarkably similar to a serial murder case that has remained unsolved for 35 years. To investigate the truth behind the manuscript, copyright investigator Yuki Mizuno (played by Nao Matsushita) accepts a commission to take action and eventually seeks the help of the unsuccessful genius manga writer Shinji Daigo (played by Arata Furuta) to authenticate the original manuscript. Daigo, who has extensive knowledge of the industry, immediately asserts that the manuscript is definitely not written by Aida, and he cannot forgive anyone who would misuse Aida's artistic style to commit heinous acts.
