Moriya Satsuki (played by Aragaki Yui) has faced a series of setbacks in her career since graduating from graduate school, and recently she was unfortunately fired, finding herself in a state of "unemployed drifter," living a very miserable life. Through her father's introduction, Satsuki, with nowhere to go, arrived at the home of a single man named Tsuzaki Hiramasa (played by Hoshino Gen) to help him with household chores, thus becoming a housekeeper at the age of twenty-five. Satsuki is kind-hearted and diligent. Under her arrangement and efforts, everything in Hiramasa's home is kept in good order. As a result, she earns Hiramasa's trust, finds a focus in life, and revitalizes herself. However, the good times don't last long as Satsuki's parents decide to move away, which means she must "resign." Unable to accept this, Satsuki decides to enter into a "contract marriage" with Hiramasa, pretending to be a couple on the outside while remaining employer and employee on the inside. Thus, this pair of "lonely man and woman" begins their cohabitation life.
