Harley (Kathy Bates) is a sharp and capable lawyer, but due to her astonishingly bad temper, she gets fired by her boss. Afterward, Harley meets a young man named Malcolm (Aml Ameen), who is facing a charge. With Harley's help, Malcolm clears his name, and he admires Harley's defense skills so much that he offers to work for her.
