No one could have imagined that the sweet-looking and quirky Villanelle (played by Jodie Comer) is actually a top assassin. Unlike her cold and humorless peers, she is unconventional, even somewhat paranoid and childish, often displaying a cat-and-mouse desire to play with her prey. However, during a previous mission, Villanelle accidentally left a witness alive, which forced her to return to finish the job, leading her to meet police officer Eve (played by Sandra Oh). Eve is unremarkable in appearance and somewhat disheveled, yet for some reason, she catches Villanelle's interest. In a series of cat-and-mouse confrontations, the two gradually become attracted to each other, and the game of cat and mouse becomes tense and intriguing... The series is based on the novel series by Luke Jennings.
