This drama is adapted from Tetsuya Hond's bestselling police novel series "Reiko Himekawa," based on the 2012 TV series "Strawberry Night" starring Yuko Takeuchi. It features a completely new cast and production team, adding the latest stories that have yet to be adapted into a television series, making its debut. The protagonist of the drama is Reiko Himekawa (played by Fumi Nikaido), the head of the 10th division of the homicide unit at the Metropolitan Police Department. As the only female squad leader in the department, she possesses sharp intuition, exceptional cognitive ability, and action skills, leading the "Himekawa team" to solve many complex cases. The other main character, Kazuya Kikuta (played by Kazuya Kamenashi), who is older than Himekawa and serves as her subordinate, appears to be strict and taciturn, but actually dislikes beating around the bush and has a strong sense of justice. He is a hot-blooded and manly sports detective. Initially, when he was transferred to the Himekawa team, he was skeptical of her risky investigative methods using intuition as a weapon. However, as they continuously solve cases, he gradually recognizes Himekawa's excellence as a detective and her personal charisma, leading to his developing special feelings for her... Himekawa's nemesis, nicknamed "Iron Will," is the head of the 5th division of the homicide unit—Inspector Kenzo Katsumata (played by Yosuke Eguchi), a seasoned detective with an outstanding case clearance rate. He has 8 years of experience in public security, making him adept at gathering information both within and outside the police organization, but his unconventional investigative methods have also drawn various criticisms... In "Strawberry Night: Hero Legend," in addition to the titular first work of the Reiko Himekawa series, "Strawberry Night," there are stories such as "Soul Detective," which uncovers the truth of a murder case without a body, "Invisible Rain," related to murder cases involving organized crime, and "Blue Killer," a quirky murder case adapted for the first time into a television series, featuring a tightly woven plot and a powerful cast that keeps viewers glued to the screen.
