Eddie Redmayne will star in the Sky/Peacock collaboration thriller series "The Day of the Jackal," adapted from the book by spy novelist Frederick Forsyth and the 1973 film of the same name directed by Fred Zinnemann and starring Edward Fox. Redmayne plays a fictional British assassin known as "The Jackal," hired by the French dissident organization OAS to assassinate then French President Charles de Gaulle. Redmayne will also serve as an executive producer, with Ronan Bennett ("Top Boy") as the writer and showrunner, and Carnival Films ("Downton Abbey") producing.
