Apple has announced a new thriller series titled "Disclaimer," written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Renee Knight, which tells the story of Catherine Ravenscroft, played by Blanchett, a successful and respected television documentary journalist dedicated to uncovering the misconduct of prestigious institutions. One day, Ravenscroft starts reading an intriguing novel written by a widower (Kline) as a bedtime story, and becomes deeply frightened when she realizes she is the key character in the story, which details a past she wishes to bury. Cuarón and Blanchett also serve as executive producers for the series, with Cuarón's longtime collaborator Emmanuel Lubezki working alongside Bruno Delbonnel as the cinematographer.
