This drama is adapted from Tetsuya Honda's bestselling police novel series "Reiko Himekawa," and is a fresh presentation featuring a new cast and production team based on the 2012 TV drama "Strawberry Night" starring Yūko Takeuchi. It includes new stories that have not yet been adapted into a TV series. The protagonist is Reiko Himekawa (played by Fumi Nikaido), the head of the 10th division of the Homicide Unit at the Metropolitan Police Department. As the only female team leader in the unit, she possesses keen intuition, exceptional analytical skills, and a strong drive, leading the "Himekawa Team" to solve many challenging cases. Another key character is Kazuya Kikuta (played by Kazuya Kamenashi), Himekawa's senior subordinate; he appears disciplined and serious but actually detests ambiguity and has a strong sense of justice, making him a passionate and masculine detective with a sports background. Initially skeptical of Himekawa's dangerous investigative methods based on intuition when he was transferred to her team, he gradually recognizes her excellence as a detective and her personal charm as they solve cases together, developing special feelings for her. Himekawa's rival, nicknamed "Iron Bull," is the 5th division head of the Homicide Unit, Kenzo Katsumata (played by Yōsuke Eguchi), an experienced detective with a significantly higher case-solving rate. With 8 years of experience in public security, he is skilled at gathering intelligence both within and outside the police organization, but his unconventional investigative methods have also drawn various criticisms. In "Strawberry Night: Hero Legend," in addition to the titular work of the first part of the Himekawa Reiko series, there are stories revealing the truth behind murder cases without corpses like "Soul Detective," homicide cases related to gang struggles titled "Invisible Rain," and the newly adapted case of the "Blue Mask Killer," featuring strong plots and an impressive cast that will keep viewers captivated.
