Created by Rob Williams, the writer of "The Victim" and "Killing Eve," the story is inspired by his experiences working as a social worker in several prisons. 　　The series will present the real, terrifying, and darkly humorous lives of prison officers in 21st-century British male prisons. 　　At the center of the story is Leigh, the head of the struggling officers, a woman who has dedicated her adult life to this prison and its troubled inmates. Despite her overcrowded responsibilities and being caught in a disaster caused by decaying bureaucracy and shortsightedness, Leigh goes far beyond her duties for these prisoners. But Leigh also has her own secrets and a past; if discovered, the price she pays could be far greater than simply losing her job. The newly arrived young prison officer, Rose, has her own motives—will her meddling be the downfall of Leigh or an unexpected savior?
