It tells the story of the righteous leader of the Tu Shan fox tribe, Tu Shan Honghong (played by Yang Mi), who leads the Tu Shan foxes to forge romantic bonds for the demon tribe, successfully linking them to the sorrowful tree and empowering it to protect the demon tribe.
