Adapted from the novel of the same name by Zhihu author Xu Jiu Wang Chuan, it tells the story of the sickly imperial concubine Su Qin (played by Huang Yang Tian Tian), who, after being relegated to a cold palace, encounters a mysterious black-clad man known as "Sick Among the Sick."
