Eddie Redmayne will star in the Sky/Peacock thriller series "The Day of the Jackal," adapted from the novel by spy novelist Frederick Forsyth and the 1973 film of the same name directed by Fred Zinnemann and starring Edward Fox. Redmayne plays a fictional British assassin known as "The Jackal," who is hired by the French dissident group OAS to assassinate the then French President Charles de Gaulle. Redmayne is also an executive producer, with Ronan Bennett ("Top Boy") serving as writer and showrunner, and Carnival Films ("Downton Abbey") producing.
