TV director Akiko Hayakawa (Nobuko Miyamoto) visits a Western-style mansion deep in the mountains to interview a now-deceased legendary painter. Accompanying her are producer Hoshino (Shingo Yamashiro), his daughter Emi (NOKKO), cameraman Taguchi (Ichiro Furutachi), and reporter Asuka (Fukumi Kuroda). In fact, Hoshino is romantically involved with Akiko and brought Emi along in hopes of bringing her closer to Akiko, but their vacation mood is quickly shattered by a series of strange occurrences in the mansion. This is the third theatrical film directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, produced by Juzo Itami, and is the first major release.
