"Colored Glasses" is adapted from a real story that caused a stir across the United States. The film tells the notorious wrongful conviction of five teenagers known as the "Central Park Five," who were wrongfully convicted of rape. This four-part limited series will focus on five youths from Harlem: Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Korey Wise. The story begins in the spring of 1989, when these teenagers were first questioned about the rape incident. The narrative spans 25 years, culminating in their exoneration in 2002 and a settlement agreement with New York City in 2014. The series is created by Ava DuVernay, who also co-writes and directs the four-part drama. Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King of Participant Media, Oprah Winfrey of Harpo Films, Jane Rosenthal, Berry Welsh, and Robert De Niro of Tribeca Productions will join DuVernay as producers under her Forward Movement banner. In addition to DuVernay, Attica Locke, Robin Swicord, and Mike Starr are also writers for this limited series. The cast includes Emmy-nominated Michael K.
