The so-called "alchemy" is a technique that produces "gold" through different combinations. The attempt to artificially create "lifeforms" is also considered a mysterious study, with various experiments taking place in an unknown modern setting. The key to this story lies in the product of the highest technology in alchemy, the "Artificial Lifeform (Monster) Chemy," which is contained within 101 lifeforms stored in a card known as the "Ride Chemy Card." Chemy is constructed to imitate various things in the world, such as grasshoppers and steam locomotives (SL). However, these beings, which should have been carefully safeguarded, suddenly burst forth from the cards and are released all at once. The protagonist, a high school student named Kotaro Ichinose, inadvertently gets involved in this event and is entrusted with the transformation belt "Gotchar Driver" of Kamen Rider Gotchard, tasked with the mission of retrieving the scattered Chemies.
