The story follows 34-year-old single woman Yamada Akira, who loves solving mysteries. After more than ten job changes and relocations, she works part-time at the mystery novel specialty bookstore "MURDER BEAR BOOKSHOP" and becomes an investigator for the "White Bear Detective Agency" due to a joke made by the bookstore owner.
