This series is adapted from Osamu Tezuka's "Shinsengumi," telling the story of Kyu Juro, whose father was brutally murdered, who joins the Shinsengumi to hone his swordsmanship and seek revenge. During the enlistment exam, he meets the cold-hearted youth Daizaku. Daizaku, whose origin is unknown and a skilled swordsman, is introduced to the Shinsengumi as a promising new recruit.
