The series depicts the year Showa 17 (1942), when Japan extensively conscripted Taiwanese youths from its colony to supervise Allied prisoners of war captured during the war; these Taiwanese monitors became embroiled in a cold-blooded massacre and were accused by Allied prosecutors of committing the crime of "mistreatment of prisoners of war." Some never had the chance to return to Taiwan, while others did come back but no longer spoke about the events that occurred on the island. The series consists of 5 episodes and is expected to air in 2024.
