In present-day Japan, there is a cat burglar detective known as "Yamakatsu" (played by Kamenashi Kazuya), who frequently infiltrates organizations and individuals' locations to steal large amounts of money, while also exposing their illicit activities to the public. Therefore, Yamakatsu is regarded as an embodiment of justice. In reality, Yamakatsu is loud and unruly, quirky, and a terrible singer who loves to sing. He resides in a bar called "Stray Cat," where he regularly obtains information through journalist Katsumura (played by Narimiya Hiroki). During one of his operations, Yamakatsu encounters a genius hacker girl, Mao (played by Hirose Suzu). After several twists and turns, he finally recruits Mao into his team. Meanwhile, an important former partner (played by Tsukaji Muga) is murdered, and as Yamakatsu continues to investigate the truth, he also gets closer to the mysterious post-war figure Yuki Tenmai in Japan...
