"Gunflower" features a unique narrative style with nearly 60 closely connected spy missions, executing a task in each episode and telling a complete story every ten episodes. The entire series consists of three story arcs - the Money Storm Plan, the Jade Shattering Plan, and the Balloon Plan. The first story arc - The Counterfeit Case Japan has launched the "Money Storm" counterfeit economic warfare plan, attempting to destroy China's economy by first issuing counterfeit money and then printing real currency. Fan Lu and Qian Qian are urgently summoned to deal with various characters, including gambling experts, retired spies, the Japanese mafia, self-proclaimed brokers, and the iron-fisted imperial envoy. The second story arc - The Jade Shattering Plan The Japanese side decides to create a shocking incident in China known as the "Jade Shattering Plan." The ultimate goal of the Jade Shattering Plan is to use "sakura-style suicide planes" carrying "nuclear bombs" to destroy Shanghai. Fan Lu and Qian Qian start by competing for a small Japanese aircraft that has unexpectedly crashed and discover that the Japanese are planning larger terrorist activities, including manufacturing a "dirty bomb" that combines uranium and explosives, with 120 bombing points spread throughout Shanghai. The third story arc - The Balloon Plan A forest fire breaks out in the Rocky Mountains of the United States, suspected to be caused by the Japanese using hot air balloons carried by the monsoon winds across the Pacific for sabotage. American intelligence personnel request assistance from China for an investigation. Soon, it is found that the Japanese military has just formulated a "Balloon Plan" targeting China. After a series of perilous investigations, Fan Lu and Qian Qian discover that the "Balloon Plan" entails not only hot air balloons floating towards China - "airborne bacterial bombs" - but also involves "people" - all participants in the dance competition will be injected with pathogens, becoming actual "mobile bacteria" that will spread the virus across Asia through touring. Even more terrifying is that a more formidable strategic conspiracy lurks behind the "Balloon" plan...
