In the late 1970s, in a small alley of the Suzhou cotton mill housing area, the Zhuang and Lin families lived. With the resumption of the college entrance examination, Zhuang Chaoying, a teacher, and his wife Huang Ling prioritized their children's exams as the family's top concern. Influenced by them, their neighbors Lin Wufeng and Song Ying began to pay attention to their son's studies as well.
