The remarried life of the male protagonist, Li Wansheng (played by Zhou Xiaobin), who is divorced and has a son, Qiangqiang (played by Dong Bowen), working as a staff member in a travel company, and the female protagonist, Zhou Yan (played by Yan Ni), who is a nurse, is warm and full of love. Li Wansheng: understanding, thoughtful, and gentle; Zhou Yan: simple, straightforward, and enthusiastic, embodying a rare optimism and persistence found in modern individuals. Despite being in a remarried family, the couple shares a deep bond and love, preparing to settle into a new home and looking forward to a beautiful life. Lin Shanshan (played by Wang Yangmeizi), a female model, is a patient Zhou Yan once saved. After suffering a broken heart, Lin Shanshan descends into binge drinking and excessive eating, leading to acute gastric perforation. She is admitted to the hospital where Zhou Yan works. During their time together, the initially aloof and seemingly depressed Lin Shanshan slowly becomes friends with Zhou Yan, moved by her sincerity and warmth, and through Zhou Yan, meets psychologist Zhang Ke (played by Guo Haolun), which leads to an exploration of her emotional journey between her ex-boyfriend Chang Yuan (played by Wang Wei) and Zhang Ke. Throughout this process, psychologist Zhang Ke also unknowingly plays a subtle role in the lives of Lin Shanshan and Zhou Yan. As the story progresses, Zhang Ke gradually becomes an important figure in helping Zhou Yan save Li Wansheng, who suffers from severe psychological issues, and is touched by Zhou Yan's dedication to Li Wansheng, developing feelings for her. However, due to ethical standards that prevent psychologists from developing emotional entanglements with their clients, he finds himself in a deep conflict between human instinct and professional ethics, facing painful choices. Zhou Fang (played by Lin Yongjian) and Yang Lizhi (played by Zhou Dongqi) – Zhou Yan's brother and sister-in-law, are a middle-aged couple. Due to sending their daughter Zhou You (played by Qiao Qiao) abroad for further studies, Zhou Fang begins to work relentlessly to earn money, increasing the stress of life and estranging his wife, Yang Lizhi. His close relationship with his "female confidante" He Xiaoyu further exacerbates the already tense family dynamics. Zhou Yan has a good relationship with her brother's family, but since marrying Li Wansheng, Zhou Fang often helps his sister financially to improve her not-so-wealthy life, raising concerns for her happiness in Yang Lizhi, who has never thought highly of Li Wansheng, and adding to the conflict with Zhou Fang. Additionally, their daughter Zhou You's independent nature becomes a major concern for Yang Lizhi. The climax of the plot occurs with the arrival of Li Wansheng's ex-wife, Chen Rongrong (played by Fu Yujia), which completely disrupts the life of the protagonists Li Wansheng and Zhou Yan. Li Wansheng and his ex-wife frequently argue over the custody of their son Qiangqiang, and with the subsequent business betrayal from a work friend leading to his dismissal from the travel company and a considerable monthly mortgage payment… All of these pressures from urban life accumulate a heavy burden on Li Wansheng, the son of a farmer who once rose from the mountains through his hard work. Gradually, the long-buried, unacknowledged traumas of his childhood rural life and the estrangement from his aging father start to resurface, leading to severe psychological issues for Li Wansheng. At this moment, how will the optimistic and persistent Zhou Yan confront this unexpected turn of life? And can Li Wansheng, suffering from psychological issues, gradually unravel his mental shadows, return to happiness with Zhou Yan, and resolve years of estrangement with his aging father with the help of family, friends, and his psychologist? Meanwhile, related figures in Zhou Yan's life – her friend from a rescue operation, model Lin Shanshan, her on-again-off-again ex-boyfriend, photographer Chang Yuan, brother Zhou Fang, sister-in-law Yang Lizhi, husband’s ex-wife Chen Rongrong, husband and ex-wife's son Qiangqiang, colleagues at work, and psychologist Zhang Ke, who increasingly comes into contact with her to save Li Wansheng – all begin to rethink and seek genuine emotions and their spiritual homes amid the pressures of material society…
