Set in a reading classroom, the story follows the protagonist Takashi Hoba, a university mathematics professor who is unpopular with students due to his poor speaking skills. His wife Nao (MIMURA) also leaves him with their child. One day, the department head orders him to attend a "speaking classroom," where he meets instructor Kyoko Esaki (Kumiko Asou). When Takashi expresses his desire to learn from this impressive woman, she bluntly calls him a "boring man." Although Kyoko's superior, Sakurada (Kyouhei Shibata), intervenes to mediate, they part on bad terms.
