Alvin (voiced by Justin Long), Simon (voiced by Jesse McCartney), and Theodore (voiced by Matthew Gray Gubler) are three adorable chipmunks. One has a quirky mind, one has a strong and sturdy body, and one possesses extraordinary intelligence. They are very close and work together as a tight-knit team. David (played by Jason Lee) is the owner of the three chipmunks, and he plans to drive to Miami to propose romantically to his beloved girlfriend. However, the chipmunks misunderstand David's intentions, thinking Alvin is about to abandon them. Moreover, they discover that David's girlfriend has a son who is a cruel "devil"! To thwart David's proposal journey, the chipmunks devise a foolproof plan.
