This work tells the legendary life of Japanese People's Liberation Army soldier Sugawara Kei and showcases the true history of the little-known special group of Japanese PLA members. Sugawara Kei was born in 1933 in Kyushu, Japan, and followed his parents to Northeast China during his childhood. After Japan's defeat and surrender, he was unable to return to Japan and ended up herding cows for a landlord in Liaoning. In 1948, Sugawara Kei joined the People's Liberation Army under the name "Zhang Rongqing," and subsequently experienced the Liaoshen and Pingjin campaigns, dedicating himself to the cause of proletarian revolution.
