The story takes place in Chongqing, the wartime capital, in 1945. KMT special training student Xu Zhongyi (played by Sha Yi) is ordered to enter the Shenyang military intelligence organization due to being held back a year. Chen Ming (played by Zhao Chunyang), the head of the Shenyang military intelligence station, is suspicious of Xu's sudden return to the northeast.
