The story begins in a quiet residential area with a red-roofed house. 18 years ago, it was the home where the parents were murdered and their bodies dismembered by their own daughter, Sayako Aota, and her boyfriend, Hideyuki Obuchi. During the trial, Obuchi published "An Autobiography Too Early" and confessed to past crimes against young girls. The trial concluded that Sayako, who was brainwashed by Obuchi, committed the heinous act, leading to Obuchi receiving the death penalty and Sayako a life sentence. A few years later, editor Ryo Hashimoto, who handled the book "An Autobiography Too Early," is approached by aspiring writer Sana Ogura, who has a novel project inspired by the incident. To realize the serialization of the novel, Ryo and Sana conduct interviews with relevant parties, including Reiko Obuchi, who married Hideyuki while he was incarcerated, and Seiko Ichikawa, a former editor and Hideyuki's former lover. However, the two soon find themselves dragged into the dark emotions of jealousy and inferiority that the involved parties harbor.
