Master of tricks Qian Wendi (played by Andy Lau) teams up with his girlfriend Lily (played by Chloe Wang) and friend "Golden Finger" A-Zhi to win six million Hong Kong dollars from wealthy Liu Yaozu. Once Liu discovers he's been cheated, he violently kidnaps A-Zhi and coerces Wendi into going to prison in order to reclaim Liu's three hundred million assets from prisoner Rubinson (played by Kwan Hai Shan). Concerned for his friend’s safety, Wendi has no choice but to comply, entering the territory of his rival—prison guard killer Xiong (played by Tony Leung). Wendi quickly establishes himself in prison through his exceptional skills, even winning over killer Xiong. As Wendi gets closer to Rubinson, he discovers that Rubinson is actually Liu Yaozu's father-in-law. It turns out Liu has long coveted Rubinson’s wealth and even went so far as to kill his wife for it. Rubinson, seeking revenge for his daughter, ends up being framed and finds himself in a miserable state in prison. Fueled by a sense of justice, Wendi decides to help Rubinson seek his revenge, thus teaming up with killer Xiong to seize Liu Yaozu’s ill-gotten gains…
