In Hong Kong, there is a police station that used to be a military camp during the Japanese occupation thirty years ago. After their defeat, a Japanese officer committed seppuku inside. It is said that their restless spirits linger in this police station and appear on the day of the Hungry Ghost Festival. Kim Maiki (played by Jacky Cheung) and Meng Chao (played by Simon Yam) are both police officers in this station, but they have always disbelieved the terrifying legends surrounding it. Until one day during the Hungry Ghost Festival, they witness a fugitive, She Zai Ming (played by Lau Nam Kwong), turning to ash upon exposure to sunlight. It turns out that She Zai Ming had seen the ghosts of the Japanese army in prison, and after being bitten, he turned into a zombie, which makes them believe that there are indeed spirits in the police station. They report the situation to their superior in hopes of uncovering the truth, only to encounter a woman who appears to have died after being bitten by a zombie. A battle between the police and the vengeful spirits officially begins...
