Photographer Duck (Terrence Dashon Howard) and reporter Simon (Richard Gere) are a pair of life-and-death good partners, daily navigating through gunfire and explosions to bring frontline news to people worldwide. With their true and reliable reporting, Duck and Simon have earned the coveted Emmy Award in journalism, reaching the pinnacle of their careers. One day, during a coverage incident, an accident occurs, and Simon goes missing. Subsequently, Duck is promoted, while Simon remains unaccounted for. Time passes, and five years later, when Duck and his new partner Benjamin (Jesse Eisenberg) return to Sarajevo, Simon unexpectedly appears before them. Simon's return unveils a heavyweight explosive news story, and to verify it, Duck, Benjamin, and Simon decide to venture into the lion's den.
