"Middle-Aged Plan" is an emotional drama reflecting the family lives of middle-aged people today. With elderly parents experiencing disharmony, a daughter facing a romantic crisis, stagnant career advancement, a wife's reproach, a father's mockery, and colleagues' gossip, how can a middle-aged man escape his predicament and realize his own middle-aged plan? This is the main content portrayed in the family drama "Middle-Aged Plan," crafted by powerful actors Zhang Fengyi and Jiang Shan. The plot is depicted realistically and delicately, showcasing the lives of three generations: the elderly, middle-aged, and young, each with distinct emphasis. The specific details regarding the emotional ties between three generations are vivid and interesting, allowing viewers of all ages to resonate with the drama. Civil servant Jian Heping enters middle age, leading a life as calm as still water. However, one day, the sudden death of the unit director shakes him significantly. On the other hand, his mother requires care after recovering from lung cancer surgery, so he brings her to live with his family, only to face complaints about housing from his nurse wife, Qi Ying, along with unsuccessful career advancement, which exposes previously hidden issues in his once-peaceful life. This series of events awakens Jian Heping to the realization that while many people and things around him are changing as he reaches middle age, his work and life show no signs of improvement. He begins to reflect and formulates a "Middle-Aged Plan" that includes promotions, changing houses, and publishing books, among other life aspects. This ambitious middle-aged plan invites laughter from his family; however, his mother and eldest daughter, Jian Jie, express their support. As the days pass, both the promotion and housing issues remain unresolved, but the plan to publish a book gains help from his sister and a colleague, Su Zhen, which provides Jian Heping with immense comfort and confidence. Encouraged by Su Zhen, he has consistently followed through with his fitness plan, and his accordion playing has become as wonderful as it was in his youth. Immersed in a fulfilling life, his wife gradually grows suspicious of him, while his mother and sister also become vigilant, turning their gaze towards him. Ultimately, unable to endure these torments, Jian Heping adds a new item to his "Middle-Aged Plan"—divorce! This shocking decision comes from the mouth of the honest eldest son, leaving the family in disbelief; his wife cannot accept it, two daughters' relationship problems remain unresolved, and now his parents are in conflict over divorce. Faced with all these pressing issues and his unwillingness to abandon his "Middle-Aged Plan," what direction should a man in his forties take?
