In a bustling downtown area, an angry man (played by Ken'ichi Endo) is pushed into the rushing traffic and crushed to death. He is the son of Teruhara, the president of the Yakuza-affiliated company Florain (played by Renji Ishibashi), who two years ago drove into a crowd, causing a large number of casualties, but got away unscathed thanks to his father's influence. Suzuki (played by Toma Ikuta), an employee at Florain, witnesses the car accident; his lover was killed beneath the wheels of a car years ago, and he had originally planned to seek revenge, but now finds himself caught in an unforeseen whirlpool. From a nearby high-rise, a mysterious hitman named Killer Whale (played by Tadanobu Asano), hired by Teruhara, encourages his target to commit suicide, while a cold-blooded assassin named Semi (played by Ryousuke Yamada) waits below for instructions from the introducer Iwanishi (played by Jun Murakami) to kill Killer Whale. The death of Teruhara's son entangles several unrelated individuals, leading to unpredictable fates…This film is adapted from the novel of the same name published by Kotaro Isaka in 2004.
