In the courtyard of the Peninsula Mansion, officer Xu Tai is found severely injured and barely alive. Meanwhile, the police also discover the unconscious inspector Ling Guang (played by Aaron Kwok) at the scene. Considering the recent drill murder case, the police suspect that this case is the work of the same perpetrator. After Ling Guang wakes up, he suffers from amnesia, making it impossible for him to explain his encounter with Xu Tai, leading officer Chen Anzhe (played by Chin Kar Lok) and others to accuse him of being the murderer. Chief Superintendent Yu (played by Dong Yong) tells him not to get involved in the case. Ling Guang feels wronged, and his only support comes from his close friend A Gui (played by Zhang Zhaohui). Records indicate that Ling Guang was on leave at the time of the incident; he asks his wife Xi Ai (played by Zhang Jun Ning) and adopted son Zai Zai (played by Tan Zhen Yi) in hopes of recalling his memory, but to no avail. His mind is haunted by bloody scenes, leading to extreme mental instability. He becomes cold towards his wife and son, and even neglects his recently divorced sister Ling Min (played by He Chao Yi). While collecting evidence, Ling Guang shockingly discovers that several of the deceased have a special connection to him, and that there is an even bigger conspiracy behind it...
