Retired veteran Uncle Ya (Sun Yue) lost his wife after bringing home an abandoned baby. He survives by scavenging, raising the abandoned baby, named A Mei (Liu Ruiqi), with both paternal and maternal love. Due to Uncle Ya often playing beautiful music in her ears, A Mei develops a special understanding of music from a young age. After graduating from high school, A Mei starts working as a singer in a restaurant, where she meets composer Shi Junmai, which significantly improves her singing skills. She catches the attention of entertainment company boss Yu Guangtai. To improve Uncle Ya's life, A Mei, lured by Yu Guangtai, signs a contract to perform in Southeast Asia, only to find herself exploited as a cash cow. When Uncle Ya falls seriously ill, she is unable to visit him, and can only express her feelings of longing and guilt through her songs on stage.
