An eight-year-old boy named Adam traverses the hills and valleys of Tuscany and suddenly appears in a small town near Siena, where he meets his friends Arianna and Martino. Adam believes he can find his parents by the sea, so the three of them, along with a duck, embark on an adventurous journey to the ocean. Rimando, a somewhat childish poet wandering between country inns, lends them a helping hand, and the three kids finally arrive at the long-dreamed-of seaside, only to find that Adam's parents are not there...
