This 1980 film focuses on a group of railway postal workers, with the main character being an unremarkable and lovelorn Everyday, who faces repeated rejections in romance. Everyone does their best to help him find a solution, while the object of his affection ends up with a handsome guy who is giving him advice. It is only after she becomes pregnant that it is his turn to heal and have heart-to-heart talks. This romantic comedy showcases Haneké's humorous side in his obsession with archives, showing that even a serious director can make a romantic film that evokes laughter and tears, allowing viewers to experience the bittersweet life of humble characters, while also satirizing superficial love focused solely on looks. After enduring ten years of difficulties, Haneké won the Best Director award at the 1989 Berlin Film Festival with this film after its release from censorship.
