The TV series tells the story of the Anti-Japanese War, where Zhao Xiaorui plays a Nationalist general who is devoted to resisting Japan and continuously strives to cooperate with the Communist Party. Among his subordinates, there are several underground party members, one of whom is Secretary Wang and another named Tao Zhu. They have been protecting the general all along.
