This is a peculiar wedding. A large ski resort in a northern city has gathered a crowd of spectators. A luxurious wedding car slowly drives in, and out steps a mismatched couple, sparking discussions among the onlookers who are informed that this is the bride's sister and brother-in-law. The wedding begins, and two figures, one in red and one in blue, shoot toward the crowd from the snowy peaks like arrows... At that moment, an unexpected incident occurs. A young man wielding a sharp knife suddenly rushes out, taking the bride hostage and stabbing the groom in the abdomen... After a false alarm, lawyer Wei Zhuang, who has come to the wedding, discovers that her husband, Wu Banjiang, is mysteriously missing. After finding her calls do not connect, Wei Zhuang starts to search everywhere. At that moment, Wu Banjiang is hiding in a bathroom, making a phone call to his mistress Zhang Lili. This scene is witnessed by Liu Shengshi, who has just entered the bathroom. Wei Zhuang finds Wu Banjiang, and a conflict ensues. At this moment, Liu Shengshi comes out of the bathroom and helps Wu Banjiang out of the situation. It turns out that Liu Shengshi is an old classmate of Wei Zhuang. Wu Banjiang claims he has a flight for a business trip and hurriedly leaves. Meanwhile, another quarreling couple, Chen Xiang and Kong San, arrives late amidst their arguing. Chen Xiang, full of jealousy, blames Kong San for only having eyes for his employee, A Qiu. Jiang Xin supports Chen Xiang, which only makes things worse. Liu Shengshi drives Wei Zhuang and her son Lele home. The two reminisce about their school days, sharing a moment that makes them smile at each other, filled with infinite sentiment and helplessness. Wei Zhuang knows Liu Shengshi is divorced and remains silent. Suddenly, she remembers something and asks Liu Shengshi to take her to the airport. At the airport, Wei Zhuang watches the boarding crowd going to another city, and after confirming that there is no flight as Wu Banjiang mentioned, she exits the airport feeling conflicted. Jiang Xin and Yang Yifan return home with Wei Zhuang's child. Yang Yifan, seeing the child's joy, expresses his wish to have a child too. After putting the child to sleep, he anxiously waits for Jiang Xin to finish her shower. Jiang Xin deliberately takes her time, and by the time she comes out, Yang Yifan has fallen asleep in frustration. Newlyweds Jiang Yan and Luo Hao return to their small apartment, relishing the sweetness that comes with marriage. Jiang Yan is satisfied with this life, while Luo Hao appears guilty, wishing to give his playful wife all the happiness and promising Jiang Yan a good life... As night falls, Chen Xiang is still cleaning the floor at home when Kong San comes home reeking of alcohol. Chen Xiang questions Kong San about being with A Qiu again. Though they argue briefly, Kong San drags his wife back to their room to sleep. Kong San says he wants buns for breakfast, and Chen Xiang promises to make his favorite big meat buns. Despite their bickering, their life together is still quite sweet... The next morning, a couple is still tangled in bed, the man being Wu Banjiang. At that moment, the doorbell rings, and the milkman waits at the door. The woman playfully asks Wu Banjiang to open the door. When he does, he is shocked to find Wei Zhuang standing there... In court, there is a solemn quietness. Wei Zhuang and Wu Banjiang sit on opposite sides, while Jiang Yan serves as Wei Zhuang's lawyer. Jiang Xin, Yang Yifan, Luo Hao, Liu Shengshi, and others sit in the audience. Infuriated, Wu Banjiang hurls insults at Wei Zhuang, calling her cold, heartless, and lacking femininity. Wei Zhuang remains calm, only wanting to get her child back, which plays into Wu Banjiang's hands. The verdict: the child and the house belong to Wei Zhuang, and Wu Banjiang leaves in disgrace. The seemingly strong Wei Zhuang hides in the bathroom, silently crying. Jiang Xin visits Wei Zhuang, intending to offer comfort, but Wei Zhuang says she just wants to be alone. Jiang Xin feels disheartened and goes home to vent her frustrations on Yang Yifan, while he smiles and obediently accepts her wrath. Jiang Xin's father, unable to watch his daughter suffer, starts scolding her. He shares from his own experiences what constitutes a trustworthy man and advises her not to take her blessings for granted. Wei Zhuang feels helpless, sulking in her room, while Yang Yifan comes over to coax her, eventually managing to make her smile. Wei Zhuang is alone with her child, facing many difficulties. One day, her son has a high fever. In a hurry, she carries him to the hospital, but in her rush, she forgets to bring money. Upon arrival, Wei Zhuang has to call Jiang Xin for help but gets no answer. In her despair, she thinks of Liu Shengshi, who rushes to the hospital without a second thought and helps care for Lele, finally taking mother and son back home safely... Wei Zhuang cares for Lele day and night, feeling miserable, and ultimately falls ill herself. Thanks to Liu Shengshi's help, Lele's condition stabilizes. Grateful, Wei Zhuang makes breakfast for Liu Shengshi, and they chat happily, reminiscing about their school days with deep feelings. Liu Shengshi hints at his affection for Wei Zhuang. Although Wei Zhuang feels moved, her stubborn and traditional nature leads her to subtly refuse his advances. Nevertheless, Liu Shengshi's kindness fills Wei Zhuang with warmth and sweetness. Wei Zhuang shows no interest in the law firm matters, as Jiang Yan takes over the case. Jiang Yan wins the first case easily, leading the client to invite her to dinner as a thank-you. Jiang Yan agrees and finds the client, Lin Nan, to be humorous, charming, and romantic, and grows to admire him considerably. After work, Jiang Xin returns home to find Yang Yifan has been fired from his job, which she feigns indifference to. She dismissively tells him that it doesn’t matter if he has a job and belittles him. Yang Yifan lowers his head, acknowledging his mistakes. Jiang Xin doesn't relent, leading her father to criticize her and advise her against taking Yang Yifan for granted by sharing his wisdom. Feeling helpless, Jiang Xin sulks alone in her room. Yang Yifan comes to cheer her up and finally makes her laugh. Wei Zhuang faces numerous challenges raising her child alone. One day, her son has a persistent high fever. In a hurry, she forgets to bring money to the hospital and has to call Jiang Xin for assistance. With no answer, she thinks of Liu Shengshi, who arrives at the hospital without hesitation and helps care for Lele, ultimately taking both mother and child safely home... Wei Zhuang takes care of Lele day and night, feeling miserable and eventually falling ill herself. With Liu Shengshi's help, Lele's condition stabilizes. Gratefully, Wei Zhuang makes breakfast for Liu Shengshi, and they happily reminisce about their school days, sharing deep sentiments. Liu Shengshi’s hints at his affection for Wei Zhuang leave her moved but, due to her rigid and stubborn nature, she subtly declines his advances while nonetheless feeling warmth from his kindness. Wei Zhuang is uninterested in the affairs of the law firm. Jiang Yan takes up Wei Zhuang's case in court and easily wins the first case. The grateful client offers to treat her to dinner, and Jiang Yan accepts the invitation, soon realizing that the client, Lin Nan, is witty, charming, and romantic, which she finds very appealing. After work, Jiang Xin returns home to find that Yang Yifan has been fired. She feigns indifference, casually brushing it off and belittling his worth. Yang Yifan, guilty, lowers his head, accepting the blame, but Jiang Xin keeps criticizing him. Her father steps in, warning her to treat Yang Yifan better and not take him for granted based on his own experiences. At home, Jiang Xin feels stuck and lonely, while Yang Yifan attempts to cheer her up. Eventually, he manages to make her smile. Wei Zhuang, now caring for her child alone, faces many challenges. One day, her son has a high fever. In a rush to the hospital, she forgets her wallet. Once there, she calls Jiang Xin for help, but gets no answer. In desperation, she thinks of Liu Shengshi who rushes to the hospital without hesitation, helps care for Lele, and eventually ensures Wei Zhuang and her son get back home safely... Wei Zhuang becomes exhausted caring for Lele day and night and eventually falls sick herself. With Liu Shengshi’s aid, Lele finally stabilizes. Gratefully, she prepares breakfast for Liu Shengshi, and they enjoy a light-hearted conversation about school days, laden with sentiment. Liu Shengshi subtly reveals his feelings for Wei Zhuang. Despite feeling a connection, her rigid and traditional mindset pushes her to politely decline his advances, but Liu Shengshi's kindness warms her heart. Wei Zhuang avoids dealing with lawyer work, leading Jiang Yan to handle her case. After Jiang Yan wins a significant court victory, the grateful client invites her to dinner. Jiang Yan accepts and discovers that the client, Lin Nan, has charm and humor, leading her to develop an admiration for him. One day, amid her hectic life, Jiang Xin discovers she is pregnant. Yang Yifan is overjoyed and shares the news with Jiang Xin's father, who is equally thrilled. Yet, Jiang Xin is worried about losing her figure and the chaos in her life with work and family, ultimately deciding to terminate the pregnancy. Yang Yifan reacts violently, inadvertently informing her father, which leads to a heart attack for him out of anger. Jiang Xin and Yang Yifan are devastated, and ironically, at that time, Jiang Yan is out at sea with Lin Nan, leaving her father never to see Jiang Yan one last time, which becomes the only regret he leaves behind. Furious, Jiang Xin slaps her sister Jiang Yan when they later meet. Wu Banjiang's relatives want to leave him an inheritance, but only on the condition that he has a son to carry on the family lineage. Wu Banjiang's new wife is wealthy but cannot bear children, prompting Wu Banjiang to set his sights on Lele. He pulls underhanded tricks, accusing Wei Zhuang of neglecting their son, causing her to lose the custody case in court. Liu Shengshi encourages the deeply pained Wei Zhuang and pushes her to fight for her own life. Vulnerable Wei Zhuang is moved by Liu Shengshi's words and accepts him, discovering that married life can be blissful. Eventually, Wu Banjiang's new wife, filled with regret, recognizes the bond between mothers and their children as unbreakable and decides to return Lele to Wei Zhuang. When Wei Zhuang finally wants to be with Liu Shengshi, he declares that he will never marry again. After life’s ups and downs, Wei Zhuang learns to accept her circumstances. Jiang Xin, mandated to receive regular check-ups due to her pregnancy, learns from the doctor that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Kong San confides in his friend Gazi about feeling lonely in his current living arrangement without Chen Xiang. Though A Qiu occasionally helps, she lacks the ability to care for him or do household chores. When a drunken Kong San calls out for Chen Xiang, A Qiu overhears and decides to leave him. She sells his shop to someone else, leaves him a note, and departs. Gazi tries to help Kong San, but struggles to find the right words, and the two turn to alcohol for solace. Feeling increasingly isolated, Kong San returns to their house, undresses, and lays down on the bed with Chen Xiang's blanket, tears silently streaming down his face... Meanwhile, Chen Xiang wanders alone in a strange city but fails to find the person Jiang Xin recommended. Too embarrassed to ask for help, she tries to navigate the city independently but ends up getting scammed. Returning home, she meets the despondent Kong San. Instinctively, he says, "I’m hungry," to which Chen Xiang humorously retorts, "Do you want a shoulder pole or a stick?" They find solace together and reconcile. Lin Nan is a freedom-seeker, one who views love as a belief. When Jiang Yan begins to deeply depend on him, he starts to withdraw. His classmates point out that he loves the concept of love itself, not Jiang Yan. Silent and contemplative, he decides to leave. This leaves Jiang Yan exhausted, prompting her to choose to study abroad. Jiang Xin suddenly confronts the fragility of life. She insists on giving birth to the child, not only for herself but also for the love yet unfulfilled from Yang Yifan and her deceased father. Yang Yifan learns from Wei Zhuang that Jiang Xin has kept the child, filling him with doubts. When they learn the medical truth, Jiang Xin finds herself feeling increasingly vulnerable, isolating herself. Wei Zhuang and the others finally locate her and offer comfort and encouragement, while Yang Yifan’s attentive care brings reassurance to Jiang Xin. The doctor informs them that both Jiang Xin and her baby are healthy, leading Yang Yifan to encourage her to continue her treatment. Two years later, Jiang Yan returns after studying abroad, arriving at the airport to find Luo Hao waiting for her. They exchange a knowing smile and leave the airport together. Wei Zhuang, Liu Shengshi, and Lele find joy in the festive wedding car. Meanwhile, Chen Xiang and Kong San merrily prepare for their own wedding feast...
