Kiyotaka Obara (played by Toma Ikuta), a young man striving in Tokyo, is filled with optimism but lacks a sense of crisis. After graduating from university, he started working as a temporary employee, but after seven years, he still hasn't been promoted. Recently, he not only lost his job suddenly but also got dumped by his girlfriend. By chance, he gets an opportunity to volunteer in Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture. Meanwhile, the self-important medical researcher Kahori Nikaido (played by Yoko Maki) is forced to return to her hometown of Shimanto to support local healthcare development. In this picturesque yet somewhat deserted small town, people seem to connect more closely with each other. New acquaintances and long-lost family and friends lead both Kiyotaka and Kahori through personal transformations. They also influence everyone around them to varying degrees.
