Georgia and Lin Siyuan return from studying in the U.S. and meet on a sea cruise, where the handsome man and beautiful woman fall in love. Lin Siyuan's father is a famous businessman in Shanghai, but his daughter’s romantic affair attracts the interference of bank manager Li Xinzhi and the daughter of Lin's father's abandoned ex-wife—a lawyer named Xiao Yiran who dresses as a man. Ultimately, this leads to the bank nearing bankruptcy and forcing Lin Siyuan to marry Li Xinzhi. After the marriage, Lin Siyuan suffers humiliation and torment from the Li family. Li Xinzhi fabricates false charges, resulting in Georgia unjustly imprisoned.
