The Central Committee's Southern Bureau dispatches Wang Wenyuan to the battlefield of Xiangxi, where he successfully infiltrates the Japanese army's core intelligence department, steals intelligence on their military plans, and discovers their plot to assassinate senior commanders of the Chinese garrison. To thwart the Japanese conspiracy, Wang Wenyuan heads to Chongqing alone, engaging in a life-and-death struggle with Japanese agent Hoshino Hisao, ultimately earning a remarkable military achievement. However, after the victory in the War of Resistance, the Kuomintang instigates a civil war, leading to domestic turmoil. Kuomintang officer Song Yongzheng is sent to Guizhou, where he begins sabotage operations. Wang Wenyuan detects his conspiracy and confronts him, successfully thwarting Song Yongzheng's plot. Unwilling to accept defeat, Song Yongzheng gathers a band of mountain bandits, causing destruction and attempting a counterattack. To completely eradicate the bandit gang and ensure national liberation, Wang Wenyuan leads his troops into the mountains to fight the bandits, engaging in a deadly battle with Song Yongzheng. The story emphasizes the fighting spirit of the Chinese people during the civil war and the victory in the War of Resistance, as well as a resolute strike against domestic enemies.
