The story takes place at the end of the Han Dynasty, where Dong Zhuo (played by 德力格尔) wields power and has long harbored ambitions for usurping the throne. His adoptive son, Lu Bu (played by Huang Lei), is a youthful hero, and Dong uses his influence to instill fear in everyone. Wang Yun (played by Fu Biao) is determined to eliminate the traitorous minister and adopts the beautiful and talented Diao Chan (played by Chen Hong) as his foster daughter, intending to use her to dispose of Dong Zhuo. Unaware that it is a trap, Dong Zhuo and his son are invited to a banquet at Wang Yun's residence.
