The series is adapted from Wu Lin's novel "Golden Flower Iron Palm." It uses the theme of warhorses to narrate the story of Zhao Daqi (played by Wu Yue), the young master of a horse shoeing shop from the Zhao family, who, by chance, joins the New Fourth Army during the War of Resistance against Japan. Throughout the story, he grows and falls in love with Sun Jiahui (played by Yu Xintian), a teacher from Wuzhou Country School, as they endure life-and-death challenges and fight side by side.
