The emperor suffers from a strange illness, and Lu Xiaofeng (played by Lin Feng) is ordered to investigate, bringing the long-forgotten ancient country of the Jinpeng Dynasty back into the spotlight. It also involves the royal princess Shangguan Fengdan (played by Lanxi). It turns out the emperor is actually poisoned and framed, and the one who can cure him is hidden within the Jinpeng Dynasty. Discovering who the mastermind is becomes Lu Xiaofeng's top priority. In the court, tension rises, and undercurrents swirl. Lu Xiaofeng's investigation reaches a bottleneck and becomes increasingly difficult. During his toughest moments, he befriends the famous doctor Huamanlou (played by Zhang Xiaolong) and the sword master Ximen Chui Xue, forming a deep bond among the three.
