"The Living Buddha Jigong" is another adaptation of the classic theme "Jigong," with Chen Haomin portraying the handsomest Jigong in history, alongside Yang Xue in co-starring roles. Yang Xue has participated in the filming of Hong Kong TV dramas multiple times, so collaborating with Hong Kong actors again is quite familiar for her. In recent years, Yang Xue has consistently portrayed strong and brave women in serious-themed dramas, and this time she returns to the light comedy genre, marking another notable work after "Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio." From fashionable idol to beautiful female soldier and now classic comedy, Yang Xue's range of roles is expanding more and more. According to producer Wang Shiwei, "The Living Buddha Jigong" plans to shoot 120 episodes, starting from Jigong's young days. 'He is a Buddha on earth, helping all beings, but he also has his own troubles, such as feeling guilty towards his wife after realizing the way on his wedding night.' The first 40 episodes will tell stories like "Blood Pearl," "Digging Heart," "Pregnant Man," "Heavenly Thunder," "Ancient Well Transporting Wood," "Rouge Tears," and others, with a confirmed broadcast in August next year during the summer schedule."
