This film tells the legendary and suspenseful story of unclear grievances and entanglements that circulate in the Huajiang Mountain area. During the first revolutionary war in China, the worker and peasant uprising was in full swing. The female protagonist Bai Kunjie, along with her former classmates Zeng Youzhi, Min Jialin, and Yang Liwen, were once four friends. Later, Bai Kunjie, Zeng Youzhi, and Min Jialin left their hometown to study together at Whampoa Military Academy, where Bai Kunjie joined the "Women's Squadron" and mastered both literary and martial arts. After returning to Sichuan, the three parted ways and embarked on different life journeys: Bai Kunjie and Zeng Youzhi, who believed in Marxism-Leninism, joined the Communist Party, while Min Jialin took a position in the Kuomintang's army. Upon her return to Sichuan, Bai Kunjie entered the Huaying Mountain guerrilla force. Due to her resourcefulness, dual mastery of literature and martial arts, and unpredictable combat methods, she became known as the "Dual-Gun Old Lady." The enemy was terrified by her and tried to eliminate her. They mobilized a large army to encircle and suppress Huaying Mountain, which severely dampened our guerrilla force. The enemy spread rumors that the "Dual-Gun Old Lady" had been killed in battle, concluding that the "bandit problem" in Huaying had been eradicated. In their overconfidence, they boasted about their achievements. However, at the very moment they celebrated, the "Dual-Gun Old Lady" (Bai Kunjie) secretly went to the provincial committee to report on her work. The enemy learned from their inside informants that the "Dual-Gun Old Lady" had not been killed and was secretly heading to Chongqing, which shocked them. They feared that the "wild people" of the Huaying area would continue to rise. Thus, they used military police and detective teams to capture the "Dual-Gun Old Lady" (Bai Kunjie) to eliminate potential future trouble. The environment Bai Kunjie faced at the time was extremely perilous: the provincial committee was destroyed; key member He Yunlong betrayed them. All of this posed a significant threat to Bai Kunjie. However, Bai Kunjie used the fact that the enemy did not realize she was the legendary "Dual-Gun Old Lady" to her advantage, and with the cover of her classmate Min Jialin, who was the chief of the city defense command, she relied on her nimble and varied fighting skills to bravely navigate crisis after crisis, ultimately escaping danger. She returned to Huaying Mountain with Zeng Youzhi, who had been assigned by superiors to work in the Huaying Mountain area, to further carry out revolutionary struggles according to the party's directives. Once the enemy learned of Bai Kunjie's and Zeng Youzhi's escape, they set up checkpoints along the way and sent detective team leader He Yunlong and the daring detective team member Zhou Yongsheng to track them down. To evade the enemy's pursuit, Bai Kunjie and Zeng Youzhi decided to enter Huaying Mountain via different routes. At the communication station for entering the mountains, Bai Kunjie coincidentally encountered the military chief of the Huaying area, Xiong Ju, who had kidnapped Yang Liwen, the daughter of the chief of Huaying County, Yang Zhizhai, wanting to marry her as his ninth concubine. Faced with her trapped friend as well as the underground party liaison map that had inadvertently come into her possession, Bai Kunjie stood up to save her. However, although Yang Liwen escaped danger, Bai Kunjie was captured by the stationed troops. Upon returning to the Huaying Mountain guerrilla force, Zeng Youzhi became deeply anxious when he did not see Kunjie return. While he was worrying, he received news that Kunjie had been captured. Zeng Youzhi immediately launched a rescue mission for Kunjie. When he learned that the targeted woman for Kunjie’s rescue was Yang Liwen, the daughter of local Democratic figure and former alliance member Yang Zhizhai, Zeng Youzhi went to the county town with Kunjie's mother to persuade Yang Zhizhai to use his position as county chief to bail Kunjie out. The rescue succeeded, but Yang Zhizhai brought upon himself the fatal consequence for it. The enemy sent Min Jialin as a "purge the communists" inspector to Huaying Mountain and secretly ordered military chief Xiong Ju to execute Yang Zhizhai. Min Jialin, in his youth, had loved his classmate Kunjie. However, he only knew that Zeng Youzhi was a member of the underground party and did not know that Bai Kunjie was also a Communist Party member, let alone that she was the famous "Dual-Gun Old Lady." Additionally, he had a close bond with Yang Liwen, so a complex situation of assassination and counter-assassination (to protect Yang Zhizhai) unfolded among the four classmates, leading to thrilling and intricate struggles. After an extremely complicated struggle, Bai Kunjie and Zeng Youzhi led the Huaying Mountain guerrilla force to ultimately defeat the military’s plot to assassinate Yang Zhizhai. However, the enemy ordered Min Jialin to personally execute Yang Zhizhai. Faced with a painful decision, Min Jialin, after a struggle deep within his soul, finally carried out the deed against Yang Zhizhai. Almost simultaneously, he decided to abandon his pursuit of Bai Kunjie and marry Yang Liwen, the daughter of Yang Zhizhai. At that time, the Red Army in northern Sichuan was engaged in fierce battles against the six-way encirclement; the Huaying Mountain guerrilla force received guidance from higher party organizations to escort a batch of medicine to the revolutionary battlefield and to transport a group of progressive youths joining the revolution to the Soviet region. Bai Kunjie and Zeng Youzhi immediately organized forces and arranged escort tasks, leading the guerrilla members to engage in clever and agile combat against the enemy, successfully completing the tasks assigned by higher authorities. Min Jialin began to suspect Bai Kunjie and conducted covert investigations. Bai Kunjie, through Yang Liwen, cleverly maneuvered around Min Jialin, ensuring that her identity remained concealed while effectively fighting the enemy, causing them sleepless nights and severely disrupting their encirclement of the Soviet area. To adapt to the needs of the struggle, the party organization in the eastern Sichuan region decided to hold a joint meeting in Huaying. This matter, being of vital importance, was functionally kept secret by the enemy infiltrating spies within our guerrilla force who acquired the information and reported it through special channels. Suddenly, Huaying Mountain was in turmoil, with crises looming. To better conceal her identity, Bai Kunjie began teaching at a local school. However, the school principal was a Kuomintang spy, who, from another angle, secretly discovered Bai Kunjie’s suspicions and promptly reported to the detective team, placing Bai Kunjie's safety at risk. When the principal went to report to the detective team, detective team leader He Yunlong was away on business in Chongqing, and the one who received him was detective team member Zhou Yongsheng. Zhou Yongsheng, while serving the Kuomintang, ultimately came to suspect Min Jialin during the investigation of his father’s cause of death, leading him to question his political choices and secretly help the underground party. He learned that Bai Kunjie's identity had been exposed and immediately notified the underground organization, but for various reasons, he could not locate Bai Kunjie. He had to take matters into his own hands to eliminate the reporting principal to protect Bai Kunjie. Zeng Youzhi went to the river pier to meet the liaison from the Huaying Mountain guerrilla force being sent down the mountain and unexpectedly encountered the detective team on patrol. Detective team leader He Yunlong discovered Zeng Youzhi and ordered his capture. Zhou Yongsheng covered Zeng Youzhi's escape but exposed his own position and was captured, subsequently facing execution. The enemy amassed heavy forces around Huaying Mountain, sealing off the county town tightly and laying traps in anticipation of capturing all leaders of party organizations from various places who came to the meeting. The situation was extremely urgent, and the underground party in eastern Sichuan faced the danger of complete destruction! It was imperative to promptly notify underground parties everywhere not to attend the meeting in Huaying, which became the sole method to protect the party organization. However, at that moment, it was impossible to issue such a notice. For the sake of preventing the party organization from being destroyed by the enemy, Zeng Youzhi decided to adopt a "false surrender" strategy to halt comrades from coming to the meeting. Bai Kunjie mistakenly believed that Zeng Youzhi had truly betrayed them; in a fit of rage, she decided to execute the "traitor" Zeng Youzhi herself. During the process of punishing the "traitor," a series of thrilling and captivating stories unfolded. Yang Liwen learned that the enemy who killed her father was none other than her intimate old classmate and husband, leading her to commit suicide in despair. Min Jialin confirmed that Bai Kunjie was the Dual-Gun Old Lady and devised a plot to lure Bai Kunjie's mother to the county town to capture Bai Kunjie. Kunjie's mother, with great righteousness, sacrificed herself to save her daughter, resisting to the death and thwarting Min Jialin's conspiracy. In the final showdown, Min Jialin executed a scheme that resulted in the death of Zeng Youzhi. Bai Kunjie pursued Min Jialin in Huaying Mountain and ultimately killed him. Bai Kunjie, renowned as the Dual-Gun Old Lady, walked firmly on the muddy road, continuing her revolutionary journey.
