In the late 1930s, the ancient land of China suffered under the brutal oppression of Japanese imperialism, with smoke from burning villages rising across the vast territory, leaving the people in dire straits. Liu Lin Town, located in central Hebei, was originally a lively and peaceful place, but as the Japanese army's small island unit entered, it was replaced by slaughter and death. The village of Zhuangjiaying, where butcher Zhuang Jizong (played by Yu Zhen) lived, was brutally massacred, with over a hundred villagers killed, leaving him as the sole survivor. Filled with grief and anger, Zhuang vowed to take revenge on behalf of his fellow villagers, leaving no Japanese alive. During this period, he befriended the troupe master Li Zhankui (played by Ma Shaohua). The two, united by their shared hatred for the enemy, embarked on a hunt for traitors and Japanese soldiers while actively rescuing the suffering people harmed by the Japanese. As their reputation grew, the Japanese began to see these two "rebels" as thorns in their side that needed to be dealt with swiftly. After encountering revolutionary forces, the actions of Zhuang Jizong and Li Zhankui took on even deeper significance…
