The special tribute drama "The Curved Bay" marks the 20th anniversary of Macau's return from 1999 to 2019. It tells the story of how, for a century, the winds of the Pacific gently swept over Macau Island, never changing anything. However, a wind at the very end of the last century changed the fate of Macau Island, blowing it back into the embrace of the motherland, consequently altering the destiny of the people of Macau. Today, as Macau has been back with the motherland for nearly twenty years, a group of Macau residents represented by Huang Zijian, Uncle Biao, and Yu are witnesses and participants in this transformation. They experienced the social status of Chinese being inferior during the era of Portuguese and Macau governance, faced economic decline and social unrest, and lived in anxiety and confusion, suffering from the pain of an uncertain future.
